Upcoming Pollution Prevention Plan requirements

July 27, 2021

Have you ever thought about what happens to the environment when personal care products, like toothpaste, go down the drain? Depending on the ingredients, there can be negative impacts to aquatic wildlife, such as decreased fertility in fish populations.

As a result, the Government of Canada regulates the use of certain chemicals, including triclosan, an antimicrobial agent that helps stop the growth of bacteria in cosmetics, drugs and more. If you sell products containing Triclosan, you may be obligated to prepare a Pollution Prevention Plan by October 10, 2021.
