Manitoba accessibility council meets with minister

The RCC-chaired Manitoba Accessibility Advisory Council met with the province’s Minister of Families, the Hon. Rochelle Squires last week for a comprehensive discussion regarding the three accessibility standards currently enacted and applicable to all Manitoba businesses, including retailers.

With the compliance of these laws persistently low, the province intends to introduce a stronger compliance framework that will be supported by a commitment to educating businesses on the legal requirements for the Accessibility Customer Service, Employment and Information, and Customer Service Standards. Support for implementing all three Standards can be obtained through the Manitoba Accessibility Office.
