Manitoba election officially underway
September 7, 2023Manitoba is officially in an election, with the writ dropped on September 5, 2023, and the campaigns formally underway leading up to the October 3, 2023 election.
The PCs presently hold 35 seats and are attempting to win a third majority, while the NDP sit with 18 seats and, based on polling in their favour, know the race is expected to be highly competitive. The Manitoba Liberal party presently sits with three seats, and is fighting to win at least one more to achieve official party status.
Campaigns are presently completing RCC’s party survey, with our Vote Retail Manitoba website and social media activities to formally launch early next week. RCC has already spoken to the parties about our desire to see in their platforms no additional taxes including increases to the PST, predictability in minimum wage, and supports related to job gaps and retail safety and security – among other issues.
