Manitoba introducing legislation to allow more workers to take protected leave

The Manitoba government announced on Monday, October 26, 2020 that it will amend the provincial employment standards code to enable Manitobans who are eligible for the Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB) to be able to apply for the federal benefits. Manitoba’s legislation would be retroactive to September 27, 2020, the date the federal program was enacted.
