Manitoba minimum wage to increase to $13.50 this October
August 22, 2022The Manitoba government has announced that the provincial minimum wage will be raised to $13.50 effective October 1, 2022, from its current rate of $11.95. This reflects an annual consumer price indexing of $0.40, and a special inflationary adjustment of $1.25.
The provincial minimum wage will undergo a second special inflationary increase On April 1, 2023, when the new provincial minimum rate will be raised to $14.15.
At that time, the province is expected to return to its traditional October 1 annual adjustments, based on Manitoba’s consumer price index for the first quarter of the previous year. While not set, the government anticipates the October 1, 2023 minimum wage will reach $15.00 at that time.
