Manitoba Sick Leave program eligibility expanded

Announced last week, the Manitoba Pandemic Sick Leave program offers up to $600 daily per full- and part-time employee for a maximum of five full days of COVID-19-related sick leave. Employers are required to apply for reimbursements.
Through advocacy efforts, RCC has clarified that employers will be covered for employees who receive fewer than five days and those without sick leave benefits (regardless of whether the employer offers benefits to some within their workforce). Eligibility for the program began May 7, 2021 and runs until at least September 25, 2021 to coincide with the federal program and other provincial programs.
