RCC is pleased to have received confirmation last week that the Government of Manitoba, through its annual Criminal Property Forfeiture 2023-2024 Distribution, will once again receive funding to support its collaborative efforts in Manitoba designed to improve safety and reduce retail crime.
In 2020, RCC established the Manitoba Retail Crime Round Task Force that facilitates coordinated responses between government, justice, crown, police, private security, retailers, and other key stakeholders. Last Fall, the Task Force launched a pilot project that is designed to leverage globally sourced analytics software to aid the efforts of police partners in building convictable cases targeting the most prolific and violent offenders.
