Manitoba’s NDP Unveils First Budget with Health Care Focus
April 10, 2024The first budget of the Wab Kinew led NDP Manitoba government was released last week, and not surprisingly, featured a strong focus on health care and affordability. The province has committed to maintaining most of the former government’s tax reductions as a part of this budget, but businesses should expect their property based education tax to go up in 2025, with the elimination of a 10% credit. The NDP also announced a $300 rebate for (very) small businesses that install or upgrades a security system, and some more general commitments regarding training, immigration and justice amongst the limited highlights for the retail sector.
