PST rules expanded for online platforms in Manitoba

On October 14, 2021, the province enacted the The Budget Implementation and Tax Statutes Amendment Act that will obligate online platform operators to collect Manitoba’s 7% provincial retail sales tax starting December 1, 2021. The act expanded the province’s tax rules to require online platform operators to register and collect PST on taxable sales facilitated through their platforms, regardless of whether they are located inside or outside the province.
