Newfoundland and Labrador’s Tax Break on Gas and Diesel Extended

Good news for drivers. The government of Newfoundland and Labrador announced last week that it will extend its tax reduction on gasoline and diesel until March 31, 2025. This maintains a lower price at the pump by 8.05 cents per litre (including HST). Of all provinces who have a provincial gas tax, the tax in Newfoundland and Labrador is the lowest in the country. This is important given the relatively higher costs for most other products, compared to the rest of the country. See press release
