Face coverings recommended for all Nova Scotians

June 26, 2020

The Chief Medical Officer of Health now recommends that all Nova Scotians wear a non-medical mask in situations where distancing may not be able to be kept, such as in stores, on public transit, or at gatherings. The exceptions are children under two or anyone who has a medical reason for not wearing a mask.

RCC has spoken with NS Public Health and confirmed that inspectors will not be expecting retailers to enforce the wearing of non-medical masks by customers; inspectors will only mandate that retail employees wear non-medical masks if they see repeated situations where employees are unwilling / unable to maintain physical distancing.
