Ontario regions re-opening under colour code framework on February 16, 2021

Ontario announced today that most health units would transition away from the “shutdown” where retailers deemed ‘nonessential’ could not open, back to the colour code framework which allows for all deemed ‘nonessential’ retailer to reopen.

The region of North Bay Parry Sound will not be reopening as planned on Tuesday, February 16, and joins Toronto, Peel and York, which are tracking to reopening on Monday, February 22.

As of Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 12:01 a.m., the following regions will no longer be subject to the Stay-at-Home order and will shift to the coloured zone below. Click here for RCC’s summary of what each colour code means for retailers.

Grey-Lockdown:

• Niagara

Red-Control:

• Chatham-Kent ; 
• Hamilton;
• Durham;
• Halton; 
• Middlesex-London;
• Region of Waterloo; 
• Simcoe-Muskoka;
• Southwestern;
• Thunder Bay;
• Wellington-Dufferin Guelph; and
• Windsor-Essex County.

Orange-Restrict:

• Brant County;
• Eastern Ontario; 
• Haldimand-Norfolk; 
• Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge;
• Huron Perth; 
• Lambton;
• Ottawa; 
• Porcupine; and  
• Sudbury.

Yellow-Protect:

• Algoma; 
• Grey Bruce; 
• Northwestern; and
• Peterborough. 

Green-Prevent:

• Leeds, Grenville and Lanark; and
• Timiskaming.
