PEI further loosens COVID-19 restrictions – eliminates in-store capacity percentages

March 12, 2021

Beginning March 13, 2021 at 8:00am, Prince Edward Island will further loosen its COVID-19 restrictions.

Of interest to RCC members:

  • Retail stores will no longer be required to adhere to specific customer capacity percentages.  The process will be simplified as retailers will follow public health measures surrounding physical distancing.
  • Restaurants will be able to resume in-house dining with a maximum table size of 10 people and a limit of 50 people in the establishment.  This limit will be able to be increased by three additional groups of 50 (200 total) with an approved operational plan.  In-house dining will have to close by 12:00am.
  • Cinemas will be allowed to open with a limit of 50 people.  This limit will be able to be increased by three additional groups of 50 (200 total) with an approved operational plan.

Background Information

Gathering limits have been increased, depending on the activity.  Team sports can continue.
