Alberta mask requirement discussion evolving

June 11, 2021

When Premier Kenney announced the province’s reopening roadmap in May, he indicated that it was likely to include a recommendation from Public Health in Stage 3 (targeted for the end of June) that facial masks would move from mandatory to recommended across the province.

However, with larger municipalities including Edmonton and Calgary indicating they will maintain mask bylaws until 70% of the population receives two doses, it is likely we will see a patchwork of requirements through the summer. RCC will track municipality policies, and keep members informed of regional requirements.
