COVID-19: Fourth dose eligibility expands to 18+, test distribution through grocers to continue

July 19, 2022

Last week, Ontario announced that the age eligibility for Ontarians who can access the fourth COVID-19 dose will now include adults 18 to 59. This means any Ontarian over the age of 18 can access a fourth does through their local pharmacy, where availability allows.

Further, the Ministry of Health recognized the significant in-kind support from retailers in distributing COVID-19 rapid test kits across the province, and has indicated they are looking to continue that distribution until December 31, 2022. In recognition that there are costs to retailers to distribute rapid test kits, the announcement also declared that Ontario would be implementing cost recover model for grocery, with further details to come.
