RCC calls on Alberta government to join the retail crime discussion

This past week, RCC and our member security experts joined a comprehensive discussion with Hon. Mike Ellis, Alberta’s Minister of Safety on the alarming issues related to retail safety and security.

RCC members did a great job outlining the issues regarding the increase in violent organized retail crime, general safety issues, and efforts stores are making to overcome these ongoing challenges Alberta’s 17,000 stores and 250,000 workers are facing.

The Minister has been invited to join police, security, retail, community wellbeing and other stakeholders at a collaborative discussion table. He is presently determining if his government is able to join the dialogue in advance of the provincial election scheduled for May 29, 2023.
