End of Key Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFW) Measures

April 10, 2024

Important changes are coming to the TFW program this Spring. Citing recent economic trends, government will phase out some temporary measures introduced during labour shortages. Notably, Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA) applications after May 1, 2024, will only be valid for 6 months, reduced from the current 12. Recognized Employer Pilot (REP) employers, however, still enjoy a three-year LMIA validity. More information on the changes can be found here.
