Prévost, Que. releases eco-fee project

The City of Prévost has released its policy regarding the implementation of an eco-fee on certain single-use products. The fees will have to be in place by July 1, 2022.

The town wants to influence other communities to follow the concept by launching a website. Terrebonne and Mascouche have also indicated their interest to implement something similar for 2023.

RCC will continue the steps to see to a Quebec-wide framework via the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and officials of the Ministry of the Environment to make them understand the issues of implementation of separate accounting by municipality – and avoid the expansion of separate regulations from one city to another.
