ISSB releases sustainability disclosure standards

The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) has now published its first two finalized standards:

  • S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information, and
  • S2 Climate-related Disclosures.

The standards and supporting documents are available online (IFRS login required – it is free to make an account).

These standards are of importance to retailers because they will help set the bar globally for consistent and comparable disclosures, including information on metrics, targets, climate-related risks/opportunities, and more. Ultimately, these standards will help investors and other stakeholders compare sustainability performance across companies and inform investment decisions.
