“What we’re beginning to see is consumers having more confidence in going out into outlets,” said John Graham, Prairie Region Director for the Retail Council of Canada. “Some of the sales are returning in those hardest-hit categories such as fashion, sporting goods and hobbies. However, they continue to be significantly below what they were pre-COVID-19.”

“Over the last three months, many more customers have started to look at online options for some of their purchases and what we’ll be watching is how much of that shifts back now that Manitobans can return to brick and mortar stores,” he said.
