Advancements Towards a Global Plastics Treaty from INC-4 Conference

Attention retailers who sell products that contain or are packaged in plastic: Post-INC-4, progress is already underway towards a global plastics treaty, particularly in areas like product design. Debate persists between countries over a national framework approach to the treaty versus unified global rules. RCC would like to see a strong global treaty that places all countries and businesses on a level playing field as opposed to a patchwork of national policies and plans which could be counter productive. Inter-sessional negotiations will occur ahead of INC-5 in November and RCC will ensure members remain informed of new developments.
