RCC co-signs Joint Business Association Statement on the importance of a coherent privacy framework

In response to the potential mosaic of stricter federal and regional privacy laws that seems to be emerging in Canada now, RCC joined with many other business associations to sign this Joint Statement to government.

The Statement highlights the importance of privacy frameworks that align with each other across Canada, are principles-based and technology-neutral. A consistent approach across jurisdictions would still protect individual information, while also allowing Canadian retailers and other businesses to effectively compete and innovate.
