Easier to access rapid testing for retailers in Alberta
April 29, 2021The Alberta government has improvements for retailers who want to access free rapid tests; there in no longer the requirement of having a health-care provider to oversee the screening. The amendment removes cost barriers, which, the province hopes will result in wider and faster adaptation of the rapid testing program.
To be eligible for rapid testing kits, employers must develop a screening program plan that outlines protocols for administering the tests, the use of personal protective equipment, and the processes for reporting results and managing individuals who screen positive.
