Alberta introduces EPR-enabling legislation

The Government of Alberta has introduced the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Amendment Act, provincial legalization that will enable the development of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations for designated categories of materials. RCC has been actively engaged in lead up discussions and will ensure members have ample opportunity to participate in the development of programs, including initially, provincial systems for managing single-use plastics, packaging, paper products, and hazardous and special products like household pesticides and solvents.
