John Horgan announced June 28, 2022 that he will retire as B.C.’s Premier when the B.C. New Democratic Party elects his successor which is expected to be in the Fall. Front-runners in the upcoming leadership race are: Attorney-General David Eby; Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation Minister Ravi Kahlon; and, Land, Water and Resource Stewardship Minister Josie Osborne.
Neither Deputy Minister Mike Farnworth or Finance Minister Selina Robinson, both of whom would be strong contenders, are not expected to run.
RCC has had a productive relationship, particularly through the pandemic, with Premier Horgan’s government and wishes him well.
