Proposed changes to certification of recognition (COR) program in B.C. put on hold
February 22, 2023Following input from stakeholders that more time to assess the proposed changes and implementation was needed, WorkSafeBC has decided not to proceed with changes to the certification of recognition (COR) program, including the implementation of a scalable occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) audit standard.
The COR program will continue to operate as it has, with participants following current requirements. WorkSafeBC plans to reengage with stakeholders once the asbestos certification and licensing requirements for 2024 are implemented, in recognition that many of those focused on these requirements would also be engaged in consultations on COR.
