WorkSafeBC announces enhanced COVID-19 inspections
November 11, 2020Beginning November 9, WorkSafeBC began conducting enhanced COVID-19 Safety Plan inspections at workplaces in the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health regions (Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Sunshine Coast, Powell River, Squamish and Whistler), prioritizing workplaces identified as the highest risk for COVID-19 transmission. WSBC wants to urge employers to remain vigilant, revisit and update their existing COVID-19 Workplace Safety Plans. In particular, WSBC prevention officers will focus on ensuring that workplace controls are effectively implemented and managed, appropriate workplace protocols are in place, and that health screening is being conducted.
