Manitoba Deputy Premier and Minister of Economic Development, Investment, and Trade, Cliff Cullen, is the latest to announce his intention to not seek re-election in the province this October, when Manitobans return to the polls. Consistent surveys show the opposition NDP is likely to form government.
His announcement over the holidays adds to a growing list of past and current PC leaders who will not appear on ballots, including Scott Fielding, Blaine Pedersen, Ralph Eichler, and Eileen Clarke. It’s anticipated in the next few weeks the PC government will announce its final cabinet shuffle that will take them through to the election, and the conclusion of their current mandate. As usual, RCC will reach out to newly assigned Ministers relevant to key files of interest to our members.
