Manitoba reduces capacity to 33%, down from 50% as a proactive measure to address rising COVID-19 indicators

April 19, 2021

The Manitoba government has announced that effective 12:01 am Wednesday, April 21, 2021, retail stores must limit capacity to one-third (33%) of fire code, up to a maximum of 333 patrons, whichever is lower. Shopping malls will also be limited to 33%.

Curbside pick-up and delivery services are encouraged, and retailers must continue to maintain their strict commitment to safety protocols.

Additional changes have also been made to gathering sizes within the home, outdoor gatherings, church events, weddings and funerals.

All changes will be in effect until Wednesday, May 12, 2021. For more information, contact John Graham, Director of Government Relations (Prairie Region), at jgraham@retailcouncil.org
