The Manitoba government has announced that it will be recognizing National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with the closure of schools on September 30, 2021. Further, Manitoba’s non-essential government services and offices will also be closed in observance of this new holiday.
For provincially regulated businesses, including retail, there will be no special pay or closure requirements, however many are expected to honour the tragic history of our country in some way, with the Canada flag being flow at half mast becoming an acknowledged gesture.
