New restrictions in Manitoba will require retailers to reduce to 50% capacity

October 19, 2020

As a result of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region, the province has added new restrictions that went into effect Monday, October 19, 2020 for at least two weeks.

In addition to adhering to existing protocols, retail businesses are required to reduce their capacity to 50%, including lowering gathering sizes from ten to five in food courts and common areas. Under the new Health Order, bars, entertainment facilities, casinos and bingo halls have closed and restaurants must also enforce a maximum capacity of 50%, and reduce table sizes from ten to five – consistent with the new indoor and outdoor gathering size reduction from ten to five. The Health Order will be posted once finalized.
