As part of the province’s introduction of a series of accessibility requirements, all employers in Manitoba have until May 1, 2022 to comply with the province’s deadline to meet the requirements of the new Accessible Employment Standard Regulation.
The purpose of this regulation is to make accessibility a regular practice when recruiting, hiring, and supporting employees who experience barriers in the workplace. To help employers prepare to comply, the Manitoba Accessibility Office (Government of Manitoba) has developed several tools and resources. RCC also intends to schedule a free webinar specific to retail to support members understanding and compliance.
