New Brunswick Beverage Containers Program to be modernized, with EPR likely to follow

The government tabled legislation to modernize the 30 year old Beverage Containers Program. The legislation follows consultation from earlier in 2021. The changes will improve recycling options and refund methods for consumers. The second phase of consultation will begin in the coming weeks with the goal of ultimately moving towards an extended producer responsibility model for beverage containers by 2023. RCC is pleased with this development.
