Tantramar Embraces Retailer Flexibility in Sunday Hours, Leaving Miramichi as Lone Holdout

Attention retailers with stores in New Brunswick: Last week, the Municipality of Tantramar, including Sackville, NB, repealed its restrictive Sunday hours bylaws, allowing retailers to choose their own hours. Miramichi is now the only municipal unit in New Brunswick with regulated Sunday hours. Retail Council of Canada (RCC), supported by the Greater Miramichi Chamber of Commerce, is working to change this. Businesses in Miramichi are encouraged to participate in the City’s Sunday Opening Hours Survey.
