Sunday and holiday shopping hours restrictions removed from Manitoba

Following RCC’s final presentation at the Legislative Committee last week, the Manitoba government has agreed to fast track The Retail Business Hours of Operation Act that will provide retailers with the ability to set holiday and Sunday hours based on customer demand, not government restrictions.  

The Act will come into force within the next few days.  It will immediately allow stores to reset hours during the holiday season in support of greater physical distancing and line-up management.  While individual municipalities will retain the ability to pass overriding restrictions, RCC expects few, if any will do so at this time.
