CN Rail strike update: Rail operations to continue
June 21, 2022The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), which represents about 750 Canadian National Railway Co. (CN) employees, were legally on strike as of 11 a.m. local time on Saturday, June 18, 2022, and have said that signal and communication workers have walked off the job across the country.
RCC has been in contact with CN whom reiterated that normal rail operations will continue safely as it has implemented its operational contingency plan, allowing the company to maintain a normal level of safe rail operations across Canada and serve its customers for as long as required.
RCC is monitoring the situation with CN, other industry partners, and federal officials with an eye to averting potential disruptions as the situation evolves.
