The Minister of Environment and Climate Change announced the much anticipated reform to the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA) amending it for the first time since 1999.
A summary of the proposed amendments is available here. Based on the first overview, impacts of the proposed amendments on retailers seem relatively minor; changes in the upcoming years to the policies stemming from the Act are expected to yield more impacts on retailers.
RCC will provide feedback as part of the consultation process.
