RCC supports proposed regulations for supplemented foods with further consultation and amendments
October 13, 2021RCC submitted comments (members only) on Health Canada’s regulatory proposal for supplemented foods such as vitamin enhanced water and juices. RCC was supportive of establishing a consistent regulatory framework for supplemented foods that provides clear information to consumers and a regulatory environment that enables continued innovation. However, RCC also indicated that several elements of the proposal require amendment and further consultation to ensure that these outcomes are achieved, and to minimize costs and administrative burden for retailers who sell these products.
