Tentative agreement reached with Border Services Officers

August 10, 2021

The Canadian government reached a tentative agreement on a new four-year contract with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Customs and Immigration Union (CIU). Announced on Friday, August 6, 2021, the pact ends the work-to-rule strike that began earlier that day and will help to avoid any unnecessary delays in the movement of goods and travellers across the border. The agreement came just before Canada opened its borders to fully vaccinated Americans at 12:01am August 9, 2021.
