Status of EPR across Canada for printed paper and packaging

July 20, 2021

Over the last few years, there has been significant movement on recycling and extended producer responsibility (EPR) files across the country, including regulations and programs for the collection and management of printed paper and packaging (PPP). As of 2020, stewardship program costs in Canada were approximately $535 million dollars and this is expected to increase to $1.5 billion by 2025.

To help members keep track of the rapidly evolving EPR landscape for PPP, we have prepared a reference page. For more information, please contact Kelsey Morden at kmorden@retailcouncil.org.
