Nfld and Lab. government increases income threshold for Essential Worker Support Program

The government announced that it is increasing the income threshold for its Essential Service Worker Support Program (wage subsidy) to allow more essential workers (including retail workers) to qualify.

The government has also extended the application deadline to February 26, 2021. Retailers who are eligible to apply include pharmacy, grocery, appliance, automotive, home improvement, health and wellness, and electronics retailers. Eligibility requirements include hours worked and gross monthly income earned between March 15 – July 4, 2020.
