Full review of the Consumer Protection Act: Member input required

For the first time in 15 years, the Ontario government is conducting a full review of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). The CPA is the law governing most personal and household transactions by consumers – from buying furniture in a store to shopping online.

RCC received an invitation to comment on a white paper proposing a list of changes, some of which are intended to reflect the influence of changing shopping technologies on the consumer-vendor contractual relationship.
