Next steps for reopening Ontario

July 13, 2021

Many members have had questions as to when Ontario will remove masking, signage, capacity, and “work from home except where necessary” requirements. RCC understands that government is working on a plan to remove all COVID-19 restrictions and that this is likely to take place in early to mid August depending on a number of criteria including the impacts of COVID-19 variants.

While yet to be confirmed, RCC is advocating for the removal of all mandatory requirements on retail, including masking, signage, capacity, and “work from home except where necessary” requirements. We have encouraged Ontario to keep health guidance material. In addition, RCC will be developing a series of best practices to address members questions around what to do in a post-requirement world.
