Verify Ontario app launched as enhanced verification where proof of vaccination is required, including at cinemas and dine-in venues

As of October 22, 2021 the Ontario Government is enhancing the vaccine certification process with an official QR code and a free, made-in-Ontario verification application. Starting yesterday, October 18, 2021 at 6am, the portal opened, allowing individuals to download their enhanced vaccine certificate, regardless of their birth month. Ontario’s enhanced vaccination certification application makes understanding proof of vaccination easier, more secure, and convenient. Ontarians will need to continue to show a piece of identification with their name and date of birth alongside their proof of vaccination when visiting select businesses. Specific to retail, that includes cinemas, and retailers running indoor dining.

Businesses can now download the free Verify Ontario app from Ontario’s website, or from the Apple App and Google Play stores.
