PEI increases restrictions – Quick serve restaurants limited to delivery, take-out and drive-thru

Due to increases in COVID-19 cases, Prince Edward Island will limit quick serve restaurants (QSRs) to delivery, take-out and drive-thru service as of Wednesday, January 19, 2022.  Retail will remain at 50% capacity and all businesses will be expected to adhere to masking and physical distancing requirements.   Cinemas and entertainment facilities must close.

Background

  • Schools will remain closed to in-person learning.
  • The government has also tightened individual gathering restrictions and maintained the four day isolation rule for people visiting the province. 
  • The new restrictions will remain in place until January 31, 2022.
