Hybrid approach to work encouraged, physical distancing reduced to one metre in Quebec

November 16, 2021

In the wake of the flexibilities recently announced by the government around COVID-19 safety measures, and as many workers return to their offices, the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail CNESST is encouraging workplaces to successfully transition through a hybrid formula, consisting of in-person work and teleworking.

The CNESST confirms that effective immediately, the minimum distance between people in the workplace is decreasing from two meters to one meter indoors. However, if this distance cannot be maintained, personal protective equipment or a physical barrier should continue to be used.

For more details, see the CNESST press release (FR).
