New Quebec cabinet revealed: How retail is impacted

October 25, 2022

Quebec’s Premier François Legault has presented his new cabinet, composed of 30 ministers, nearly half of whom were reappointed in the functions they held before the elections, the others being new faces assigned to different roles.

The thorny issue of labour shortage alone is now divided between five ministers: Pierre Fitzgibbon (Minister of Economy, Energy and Responsible for the Montréal Region), Christopher Skeete (Minister for the Economy), Jean Boulet (Minister of Labour), Kateri Champagne Jourdain (Minister of Employment) and Christine Fréchette (Minister of Immigration). In addition, the important issue of the Charter of the French language (in full reform) is now the responsibility of former Minister of Education Jean-François Roberge.

This mix of experience and new blood will certainly help fuel our collaboration, and RCC intends to ensure that the voice of retailers is always heard by the government.
