Planned obsolescence and right to repair legislation – retailers invited to discuss

The Quebec Justice Minister, Simon Jolin-Barrette, tabled legislation (PL 29) on planned obsolescence and the right to repair. If passed in its current form, it would have significant impact on the retail sector.
 
RCC held an initial member meeting in July in French and is now hosting an English meeting via Zoom on August 22 at 9:30AM ET to include additional members and their legal counsel. Ultimately, RCC is looking for insight and examples of how the Bill could impact business operations and consumers. This meeting will also help inform advocacy efforts, including RCC’s submission and a coalition around the legislation.
