On July 11, 2021 the Government of Saskatchewan removed all public health orders related to COVID-19, including those applying to retail, and simultaneously lifted the state of emergency for the province.
As a result, the Public Emergency Layoff Provisions have ended, and employers now have two weeks to either: schedule employees previously placed on a temporary layoff, or provide pay instead of notice, as required by The Employment Standards Regulations.
