B.C. restricts non-essential travel until May 25, 2021

Update July 1: B.C. is now in Stage 3 of its Restart Plan with Canada-wide recreational travel permitted

B.C. restricted travel between regions for non-essential purposes until May 25, 2021. Travel from the Lower Mainland to the Island or the Interior (or vice-versa) for non-essential purposes is not permitted. Travel for the purpose of work, travel to and from work, and, the commercial transportation of goods are all essential and allowed.  There will be no random checks.  The Province will erect signage and work with BC Ferries and tourist accommodation operators to limit travel beyond one’s region of residence.  Violators may be subject to a $575 fine.
